What is a Fiduciary? Do I need one?
Fiduciary is a term used to describe a legal or ethical relationship of trust between two or more parties. The duties of a fiduciary vary on a client-to-client basis, however a fiduciary typically takes care of finances or property (known as an estate) for another person’s benefit. A fiduciary must avoid any and all conflicts of interest and may not profit from his/her position of trust.
Using a private fiduciary can help relieve a lot of pressure on family and friends. Administrating an estate takes an enormous amount of time, effort, and research to be done correctly.
If you or a loved one have a mental or physical impairment, are elderly and need care, do not wish to be a burden to family and friends/don’t have family and friends able to assist, or are looking to avoid conflict among interested party members, fiduciary services may fit your needs.
